Akar: "Our wish is for the work to be seen outside our country"

Making a statement after the conference, Akar said, "Our wish and desire is for these to continue. Here, Boğaziçi University contributes to the studies, our students and teachers here exchange information on these issues so that we can control our own situation in a sense, and in other ways, see the studies being conducted outside our country, outside of Türkiye."

The 2nd 'Boğaziçi Lecture' conference hosted by Boğaziçi University was held with the participation of the TBMM National Defense Commission Chairman Hulusi Akar and the former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace. The program was attended by Akar and Wallace, as well as academics and students. Following their speeches at the conference, Akar and Wallace answered questions from students and academics.

'OUR WISH IS THAT THE WORK CARRIED OUT BE SEEN OUTSIDE OUR COUNTRY'

The Chairman of the TBMM National Defense Commission, Hulusi Akar, said, “As you know, as you see, we have performed the second Boğaziçi Lecture together. Our guest today was our guest, our very valuable friend, the former defense minister of England with whom we worked together. Thankfully, they came upon our invitation. As you can see, with very detailed questions and very detailed answers, we were able to shed light on some issues. Our wish and desire is for these to continue. Here, Boğaziçi University will contribute to its work, our students and teachers here will exchange information on these issues, so that both our own situation can be controlled in a sense, and in other ways, the work being done outside our country, outside Turkey can be seen. In this sense, we are truly satisfied. We are happy. It was a truly beautiful meeting, a beautiful conversation.”

'WE ARE TRYING TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR ACADEMIC WORLD IN THIS WAY'

Akar said, “Our friend Ben Wallace shared all his experiences, knowledge and experience with us here in a very open and clear manner. Of course, I believe that this will make significant contributions to our academic studies here. As you know, according to the latest surveys, according to the most prestigious surveys in America, our Boğaziçi University has perhaps reached the highest level of recent times and recent years. I also consider this to be very important and valuable. We have also tried to do as much as we can in this regard. If we can make a small contribution to the studies here and the academic studies of the university, it is very important and very valuable for us. God willing, we will continue here. Therefore, we are trying to contribute to the development of our country, our academic world, our diplomatic and political life in terms of both our diplomatic and international relations and academic studies in this way.”
